JOE McFadden will be in the money thanks to his Strictly Come Dancing victory - he'll soon be receiving a cheque for a cool £100,000.

The actor and his dance partner Katya Jones were crowned Strictly Come Dancing champions 2017 on Saturday night's show, beating off competition from Alexandra Burke, Debbie McGee and Gemma Atkinson.

And it's going to do absolute wonders for Joe's bank balance.

Each celebrity who signs up for the BBC ballroom series receives a standard fee of £25,000. If they make it through to the end of October, they get an extra £15,000, taking their total fee to £40,000, according to the Daily Mirror.

Stars who manage to make it to the quarter finals get an additional £20,000 on top of that, taking the total fee to £60,000.

And for making it through to the very end, the winning celeb gets an additional £40,00 - making Joe's total fee £100,000.

And if he signs up to the Strictly tour, Joe will make even more money. So it'll be a very happy Christmas in the McFadden house this year.

Former Holby City star Joe, 42, couldn't believe his success on Strictly.

After being announced as the public's winner, the stunned star said: "It’s completely surreal! I can’t believe it! We did it!”

He then told Claudia Winkleman that he thought he "wouldn't win in a million years".

He added: "I'm so in awe of everyone who started all those weeks ago. We've become such a tight unit."

Joe, whose partner Katya Jones burst into tears after they were crowned, won the judges over with his impressive routines.

Turning to Katya, Joe said: "This one is an amazing woman. Thank you so much for sticking with me and persevering, and being the most amazing artist and dancer and counsellor and slave driver! She's amazing."
